Ultravana Period Pain Relief 250mg Tablets

Ultravana Period Pain Relief 250mg Tablets are designed to provide effective relief from menstrual discomfort in women aged 15 to 50. Each tablet contains naproxen 250mg, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which helps alleviate period pain for up to 12 hours.

What are Ultravana Period Pain Relief Tablets?

Ultravana Period Pain Relief 250mg tablets contain naproxen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). This medication offers extended pain relief from dysmenorrhea (commonly referred to as period pain), allowing you to continue with your daily or nightly activities.

Period pain, also known as dysmenorrhea, is a common gynaecological condition characterised by painful menstrual cramps. It typically occurs before or during menstruation.

As it is gastro-resistant, Ultravana isn't absorbed in the stomach, instead it is absorbed when it reaches the small intestine.

Ultravana may be suitable for women aged 15-50 who are experiencing primary dysmenorrhoea (period pain). Please complete the pharmacy consultation to determine whether Ultravana is suitable for you.

What is Naproxen

Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for its analgesic (pain-relieving), anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic (fever-reducing) properties.

Naproxen works by inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, specifically COX-1 and COX-2. These enzymes play a crucial role in the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins, which are compounds involved in inflammation, pain, and fever.

By inhibiting COX enzymes, naproxen reduces the production of prostaglandins. This decrease in prostaglandins helps to alleviate inflammation, reduce pain, and lower fever.
