Clarityn tablets contain an active ingredient called loratadine, which is an anti-histamine. This means it works by blocking a natural substance called histamine in your body. When you have hayfever or another allergy, your body naturally creates histamine when you come into contact with pollen or whatever you’re allergic to. Like all medications, Clarityn tablets can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. These include:

Clarityn tablets should not be given to children under the age of 6 or children who weigh less than 30kg, which is the same as 4st 7lbs.
